Profile

Good software is a craft.

Since 2023 I have led, as a DevOps engineer, the build-out, evolution and operation of the continuous integration environment for automotive ECU development.

Before that I spent three years at a hardware and software engineering services company in Kiel. I wrote low-level embedded software following the V-model and specialised in testing combined with CI.

I follow the values of software craftsmanship. In my teams I practise open, constructive feedback, because it makes teams and products a little better every day.

Focus areas

What I bring

From project setup to delivery, I help embedded teams ship quickly and traceably.

CI/CD for embedded software

  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Automated testing from unit to system level
  • Reproducible builds, baselines and releases compliant with ASPICE and ISO 26262
  • Everything as code: pipelines, configuration and infrastructure versioned in the repository

Infrastructure & automation

  • Build frameworks and tooling for development teams
  • Containerised build and test environments
  • Configuration management and provisioning
  • Hybrid tool landscapes across on-premises and cloud

Security & Compliance

  • Embedding a secure development lifecycle into engineering processes
  • Open-source compliance and vulnerability analysis
  • Preparing for and supporting ISO 26262, ASPICE and TISAX audits
  • Quality management and continuous process improvement

Documentation & AI

  • Documentation as code: versioned, reviewable and built automatically
  • Setting up and maintaining knowledge management
  • Working with AI agents, with discipline: clear specifications, tests as acceptance criteria, code review and CI

Results

What measurably got better

A good toolchain shows in everyday work: faster feedback, less manual effort and more confidence in every release.

feedback_time

2 h → 5 min

Continuous feedback for developers

Parallel pipelines, build caches and targeted test selection: within minutes it is clear whether a commit is green.

create_release

2 days → 30 min

Automated releases

Baselines, release notes and ASPICE evidence are generated at the push of a button instead of by hand.

hil_nightly

1 → all variants

Real hardware, every night

Nightly HIL runs test every ECU variant, so defects surface before they reach a release.

onboarding

3 days → 1 h

Ready on day one

Containerised toolchains: new team members build and test on day one in the same environment as CI.
