This website is a personal profile page. It uses no cookies, no tracking, no analytics tools and loads no third-party content. Fonts and images are served from the same server as the website.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted on a server operated by STRATO GmbH (Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany) in a data centre in Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the provider.

When you visit the website, the web server automatically processes information transmitted by your browser:

IP address of the requesting device
date and time of access
requested page or file and amount of data transferred
HTTP status code
referrer URL (previously visited page)
browser and operating system used (user agent)

This processing is technically necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in the secure and error-free operation of the website. Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest. They are not combined with other data sources.

From this information I count on the server how often each page is visited, broken down by language, device type (mobile or desktop) and origin (domain of the previously visited page). Only these totals are stored, no IP addresses and nothing that allows conclusions about individual visitors. The IP address is only compared briefly to filter out my own visits. No cookies or scripts are used, and the figures are not shared with third parties. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in knowing the reach of my website.

3. Encryption

The website is delivered exclusively over a TLS-encrypted connection (HTTPS).

4. Storing your theme preference

If you switch between the light and dark theme using the toggle in the navigation, your browser stores this choice in its local storage (localStorage) under the key theme with the value light or dark. The value never leaves your device and is not transmitted to me or any third party. Storing it is necessary for this function you have requested (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete the entry at any time in your browser settings.

5. Contact by email

If you send me an email, I process the information you provide (email address, name and content of the message) in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to an employment or contractual relationship, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. I delete the data once the enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply. I use Google Mail (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to receive emails.

6. Links to LinkedIn

This website contains plain links to my LinkedIn profile. No LinkedIn plugins or scripts are embedded. Data is only transmitted to LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland) once you follow such a link. LinkedIn's privacy policy applies from then on.

7. Your rights

You have the right at any time to

access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).

8. Right to lodge a complaint
